LONDON – The UEFA Champions League clash between Manchester City and Galatasaray was briefly interrupted last night as three individuals stormed the pitch in a show of solidarity with Rojava. During the second half of the match, the protesters displayed Kurdistan flags before being intercepted by security.
The match, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the home side, was halted for approximately two minutes. In accordance with UEFA broadcasting regulations, the live feed avoided showing the protest, instead focusing on the stands. Following the removal of the demonstrators, play resumed and the match concluded without further incident.
