YSK Finalizes 2025 Seat Distribution: Ardahan Retains 2 Parliamentary Seats

The Supreme Electoral Board (YSK) has redistributed the number of Members of Parliament (MPs) based on the population data as of December 31, 2025, provided by TurkStat. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, under the Law on the Election of Deputies (No. 2839), Ardahan will continue to be represented by 2 MPs in the Grand National Assembly.

While the YSK updated electoral districts and representation numbers across the country based on the latest census, Ardahan's current seat count remains unchanged.

Kurdish Alliance in Iran Issues 6-Point Emergency Plan Following Khamenei’s Death

The Alliance of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan (PDK-I, Komala, PAK, PJAK, and Sazman-i Khebat) issued a joint statement regarding the developments following the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The alliance stated that the Tehran administration has entered a process of collapse due to its 47-year policies, creating a domino effect. Emphasizing that this period is not just a war but the beginning of a radical systemic change, the Alliance announced a 6-point emergency action plan for the Kurdish people. This plan calls for the public to align their political steps with the alliance, protect public buildings and infrastructure, urge military and police forces to defect to the people's side, avoid personal revenge and chaos, stay away from military sites, and increase social solidarity.

Although based in Istanbul, Ardahan Gazetesi was originally established in the United States in 1995 via the internet. In 1999, the first online district newspapers of Ardahan—Damal Gazetesi, Posof Gazetesi, Çıldır Gazetesi, Hanak Gazetesi, Göle Gazetesi, and Hoçvan Gazetesi—were integrated into Ardahan Gazetesi. These district newspapers, also founded by Mehmet Ali Arslan in 1995, continue their publications under the umbrella of Ardahan Gazetesi.
